Mazafati Dates are considered as one of the most delicious varieties of dates around the world. This crop has an attractive black coloring and moisture content of between 15%~30% depending on the palm-type and the region. The size of the date is normally between 2.5~4.5 cm. Its flesh is favorable and enough to be beloved by its eaters. The most premium and tastiest variety of Mazafati dates are grown in the city of Bam, south-eastern Iran. The cultivated land in Bam and its suburbs is deemed to be about 28,000 Hectares,5000 hectares of which is infertile.
